And we're off!

  • Left home on time. Drove to street near Lucy who was travelling to Sydney with us. Couldn't pick her up at home as Mojo would be too sad he wasn't coming! Lucy hopped in with her lap top which prompted me to check with Mark that mine was packed. Oops- Mark says why would you need laptop; answer for me to do the blog. So back home we go. Mark's wallet also missing and after more than one look and and him trying to find it at home it was in my handbag all along (my fault as boy look initially )!!!Lucy already regretting travelling with the  oldies
  • First stop Crescent Head and Mark got a surf in the morning - he has to clamber onto roof of Arvi and use a pully system he has devised to let down and then lift up paddle board as bike racks on back have made ladder unusable!
  • Lucy and I saw oldies coming across bridge with noodles (the pool type) and watched them float down the creek into the ocean. We joined in by floating on our backs. Kind of fun!
  • Easy trip to Sydney. We dropped Lucy at train station near our Caravan Park in Lane Cove National Park. After setting up we headed into town to meet Ollie and George!! Took the train and felt like country bumpkins asking where it was, how to use the ticket machine, which track was train arriving etc!
  • Had a great stay in Sydney, caught up with my friend Shirley and her newest grandchild and saw lots of Ollie, Keisha and of course George our other grandpuppy!
  • Then onto Melbourne which was down the Hume Highway all the way! Stayed with brother David and sister in law Ginna, avoiding down town Melbourne and discovering they live 9 minutes from the Port and departure point of the Spirit Of Tasmania!
  • Lined up with other campervans, caravans, a horse float and lots of Harley Davidson motor bikes and then drove into the bowels of the ship! Apparently was calm crossing although I still took a seasickness wafer as I do not think rolling equates to calm! We had a little cabin with 2 beds and a shower so pretty comfortable and certainly was better than sitting up all night.
  • So here I sit writing from the west of Tasmania on a lovely sunny day while Mark hits a few golf balls to practice for his big game in a week's time!
  • More on Tassie next blog!
